MacPair is the native macOS, iPhone, and iPad client for controlling a Mac running MacPair Host. It discovers hosts on your LAN, pairs with a verified fingerprint, and provides low-latency screen, keyboard, pointer, audio, clipboard, file, and opt-in terminal features.

Yes. Install MacPair Host 1.0.9 or later on the Mac you want to control, then use the macOS client or the re-signed iOS client on your other device.
The open-source project does not ship certificates, provisioning profiles, or signing credentials. Verify the published checksum, then use a reputable sideloading tool to sign the IPA with an Apple ID or team you control.
MacPair does not provide a public relay. Put both Macs on a private network you control, such as Tailscale, then connect normally.
The direct-download channel uses ad-hoc signing and is not Apple-notarized. For a release marked Live, verify its checksum and source manifest, use the documented macOS first-launch approval, or build from source.
No. Terminal access is an explicit host capability and should remain disabled unless you need it for that trusted session.
