Oi Privacy Policy
This policy covers Oi for iPhone, developed by Mesut Can Yagci. Oi stores its data in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). There is no developer server, and the developer does not receive your Apple ID, email address, contacts or location.
Effective: 2026-11-03
1. What Oi stores
Your username and, if you add one, a profile photo cropped to 320 pixels are saved in Oi's public CloudKit database so that friends can find you and see who sent an Oi. Your friends list, blocked list and the Only friends can Oi me setting are saved in your private iCloud database, which only your Apple account can read. Each Oi records the sender's username, the recipient's username and, if you chose one, the nudge or wink.
2. How long Ois are kept
Oi deletes the Ois you send once they are 24 hours old. While an Oi exists it is stored in the public database, so someone who knows your username and uses developer tools could see who sent you Ois in that time. Do not put anything secret in your username.
3. Notifications and verification
CloudKit asks Apple's push service to notify you when an Oi is addressed to you. Before the notification is shown, Oi's notification extension reads that Oi and the sender's public record to check that the sender is genuine. Friends' photos are cached on your iPhone and downloaded again only when they change.
4. Permissions and third parties
Oi asks for permission to send notifications. When you choose a profile photo, the system photo picker gives Oi only the photo you select. Oi does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone or camera; invite codes are scanned with the system Camera. Oi uses Apple frameworks only and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple's own privacy policy.
5. Deleting your data
Tap your username, then Delete account. This removes your public username record and photo, the Ois this iPhone has sent, your notification subscription, and your private friends and blocked lists. Your username then becomes available to others. Ois sent from another device are deleted by that device after 24 hours. Deleting the app removes its local cache.
6. Support email, audience and changes
If you email support, your email address and what you include are used only to answer you, and kept only as long as needed. Do not send passwords or payment details. Oi is not designed for children; follow the App Store age rating. If these practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy details will be updated. Contact: mesutcydev@gmail.com.
